About Me

My photo
Hi! Thanks for taking time to look at my site. My name is Kristen and I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I am dedicated to sharing the Bible's message of hope and peace. I am married and have two great kids, Gabriel-10 and Abby Lynne-3. I don't have a lot of spare time, but when I do I like to try my hand at being creative. It is a form of relaxation and therapy for me. I enjoy scrapbooking, sewing and cardmaking, although I don't sew very much anymore. Here I'd like to share some of my accomplishments when I have a chance. I am open to comments, ideas and creative help. :)Thanks for spending some time with me.

Happier Days

Hello everyone! I hope you are are all well. I love this time of year, with exception to all of the allergies associated with spring in my part of the world. We have begun planting our garden. Hopefully with a bit of work we will get good results. So I will have to ask you to please forgive me if my posts are sporatic this summer as we will be spending a lot of time nurturing, watering and weeding. Maybe I'll even get some nice pictures to share with you! I hope everyone has a great week!
XoXo!!

Hello....It's me again :)

Hi! I'm back! I'm gonna try this again, cause I had this typed out and was working on pictures when I accidentally closed my internet explorer page and lost the whole thing! So, I have come to terms with the fact that just about all of the posting I can expect out of myself is one time a month and anything extra is, well-extra. I am finding it a lot harder to find the time to work on this than I anticipated and I appologise to you all for not providing more for you. Anyway, I have a lot today! I have two cards of my own and three of my wonderful mom's to share with you! Hope you enjoy!

This is a Mo Manning image that is called "It's Hot". I made this card for a coworker's husband who had surgery on his neck for herniated disc. The papers are assorted, the sentiment my own as well as the silver accents.

My mom made this beautiful flowery card. She used rubber stamps, the postage stamps are by Raindrop Echo found on WhimsyStamps.com. I can't remember where she got the daisy, but I know it is a build-a-flower type set. If anyone wants to know how to get it please leave me a comment and I will be happy to find out for you.

I actually kind of love this one! I made this for my brother in law who retired from a job that he worked most of his life. He likes to fish so I thought he might enjoy this one. The sentiments are Raindrop Echo from WhimsyStamps.com and the papers are assorted. I drew the fishing pole myself.

Mom made this little cutie! She used a software that is loaded with silhouettes that she borrowed from a friend. I can find out the name of the software if anyone wants to check it out.
Last but not least:

This is another one of mom's cards. The image is a Mo Manning called "Buds" and it comes in boy and girl versions, and with hair variataions as well. I like this, too cute! Lots of colors and the little girl reminds me of my daughter! :)
I hope you enjoyed these cards! We sure had fun making them! Hehe! Take care everyone. Until next blog update........

Winner!!

I never win anything, so when I went on a blog hop I didn't really expect anything out of it except for some good ideas. Guess what??  I won a $5 certificate from Deedee Digis!!!  Thanks Deedee!! I can't wait to use my new images :)

Happy Sunday :)

Hi everyone! Boy did it cool down today! Yesterday was nice and warm and sunshiney. Today is quite cooler and overcast. Today I have a card that I made for a dear friend. The digi was a freebie, I must apologise to the artist-I couldn't find it in my computer again to tell you who drew it.  I used assorted papers and the flowers and "pearls" are handmade.

NC Mountains

A couple of weeks ago we decided to take the kids on a weekend ride to the mountains. We had a great time. Left Friday after I got off work and spent the night about 30 minutes from our destination. Then got up Sat morning and had breakfast. Spent the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the beauty.
We decided to explore  a well know cavern here in NC. Linville Cavern was amazing! Here are a few pics of what we saw...
                                                                                                       drip pools
The Eastern Pipistrelle Bat hibernates in the caves and we were fortunate enough to have chosen a month in which they are there. They were so tiny with thier little wings all folded up under them. About the size of a small to medium egg.
The different rock formation were amazing and amazingly difficult to photograph and do them justice.
After the cavern, we mined for "gems"!
Gabriel loved this bridge over the train track. There was also a model train store nearby that he explored with as much excitement as the cavern! While we were in the store a train passed under the bridge. Gabe almost missed it! This little abandoned nest was in a tree at eye level with us on top of the bridge.
As we began our journey home we spotted signs to a state park area. After quite a bit of riding we found a lovely Camel-back bridge and river. As beautiful as the scene was, it was a little sad too. The water level was horribly low :(
It felt as if you could almost reach out and just touch the clouds!
Thanks for taking a few minutes to enjoy the wonders of this beautiful earth with me. What a breathtaking part of creation we got to see on this trip!

Happy Monday!

Hello everyone!  Hope you all had a pleasant Monday.  I can't really complain about mine, it was just really, really looonng. :) Anyway, I had a few minutes and thought I put up some of the little flowers I have been making. Hope you enjoy.....
