About Me

My photo
Hi! Thanks for taking time to look at my site. My name is Kristen and I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I am dedicated to sharing the Bible's message of hope and peace. I am married and have two great kids, Gabriel-10 and Abby Lynne-3. I don't have a lot of spare time, but when I do I like to try my hand at being creative. It is a form of relaxation and therapy for me. I enjoy scrapbooking, sewing and cardmaking, although I don't sew very much anymore. Here I'd like to share some of my accomplishments when I have a chance. I am open to comments, ideas and creative help. :)Thanks for spending some time with me.

Accordian style photo book

Hi! I recently made a little photo book for my husbands grandparents with our kids pics in it. His grandfather isn't doing too good, so I thought this might cheer him up a bit. The front of the pages have pics of Abby, my husband and each of his grands. Sorry the pics are so lousy. The battery in my camera was about to go and it took horrible pics.

On the back of the pages I used pictures of my sweet Gabriel.

On the picture on the right he was much younger, however I saw this pic and had to use it with those bright blue eyes! :)  I used a free digi stamp that I got at Making Our Mark and, thanks to Dorca's superior tuturial, I added a sky to the background. Thanks Dorcas!

Fun Game

Dorcas found a fun game today.  It is called Pay It Foreward. In this game I will send something handmade/homemade to the first 5 people to respond to this post. If you respond to the game you have to post it on your blog and likewise send something handmade/homemade to your first 5 responders.

Acording to the rules of the game, you must send something made by you within the year 2011. So you have a little time to complete the task :)

So if you'd like to play along, post here and you'll be getting a little suprise from me this year! Sounds like fun!!

I Love You More

Here is a card that I made for the challenge over at  A Spoonfull of Sugar. The challenge is to use blue and green. I love these colors together. So I thought I'd give it a go.

I didn't think I would get this card put together today, but I had an opportunity tha tI don't usually have.  I took a vacation today and was pretty lazy. The day got by me and I noticed it was time to pick up Gabriel from school. So I got our dog, Kourtney, to suprise him and we went to the school and sat in line waiting for the kids to be dismissed. Then I rolled up to the sidewalk and guess what?? No Gabriel! I parked and went in to his teacher and she said he rode the bus home. He usually rides the bus only on Tues and Wed, but this week he was sick then had a dentist appt, so his schedule got messed up. He forgot what day it was :) So I went home and while I waited for the bus to come I made my card.

I have to apologise to the artist who made this digi. I got it as a freebie, but didn't note the artist when I saved it to my computer. If anyone recognizes it please tell me so I can give credit where credit is due  :)

My supplies include papers by Colorbok, Prismacolor watercolor pencils, American Crafts ribbon and the sentiment is from Sentimental Sunday (thanks Dorcas!)

New card

Well, I finally made a card! I love this digi. It is signed by Jenlee.I got it as a freebie. I need to really work on my coloring and blending. I'm having some trouble with the paper and also the black ink. After talking to Dorcas, I've decided that I just need to practice. I hate it when something messes up! Printer ink is expensive! :P Anyway, let me know what you think.
My supplies include Stampin'Up inks, DCWV's Cafe Mediterranean papers and Making Memories buttons. Other wise I used standard cardstock and glue dots or a tape runner. I did the stitching on my Singer Futura machine

Thanks! :)

Abby's scrapbook begins

Hi guys! Well, I was the only one who had to get up and go to work today :(  The kids were out of school/daycare and Tracy works 3rd shift, so I left everyone sleeping when I went to work today. Abby and Tracy had a great day together. I was able to take some pics of the first pages of Abby's album. I don't love them, but it has been so long since I have done any paper crafts I have to get the creative juices flowing again.

Here she is now, 3 years later, kicking up her heals at a wedding receiption with my dad and a close friend :)
